## Example call (MCP tools/call, JSON-RPC 2.0)

```json
{
  "jsonrpc": "2.0",
  "id": 1,
  "method": "tools/call",
  "params": {
    "name": "node_rename",
    "arguments": {}
  }
}
```

## Why node_rename is rated Medium

Renaming a node in Godot is a reversible write operation that modifies scene structure metadata without deleting data or executing arbitrary code. The blast radius is medium because renaming nodes could break references in scripts or other nodes if done incorrectly by an AI agent, but the operation itself is not destructive and can be undone.

From the tool's own definition: "Tool name 'node_rename' indicates modification of node properties in the Godot engine. Context: sibling tools show this server manages scenes, animations, and audio configurations—all reversible modifications."

## Use case

AI agents use node_rename to create or update resources in Godot, usually the action step of a workflow, after the agent has gathered context. Every call changes real data in your Godot environment.

## Recommended policy (PolicyLayer)

Verdict: **Rate-limited**. Enforced by the PolicyLayer MCP gateway (https://policylayer.com/mcp-gateway) before a call reaches Godot:

```json
{
  "version": "1",
  "default": "deny",
  "tools": {
    "node_rename": {
      "limits": [
        {
          "counter": "node_rename_rate",
          "window": "minute",
          "max": 30,
          "scope": "grant"
        }
      ]
    }
  }
}
```
