# abi_encode

Build EVM calldata offline: function selector + ABI-encoded arguments from a human signature such as transfer(address,uint256) or exactInputSingle((address,address,uint24,address,uint256,uint256,uint160)). Tuples/structs, fixed and dynamic arrays, bytes, strings and signed ints supported. mode=params gives abi.encode without a selector, mode=packed gives abi.encodePacked plus its keccak256 (as used for hashes and signatures). Returns hex, 32-byte words and length. Price: $0.003 USDC per successful call (x402, Solana). Same tool over HTTPS: GET https://scorptech.it.com/api/x402/v1/abi-encode

## Facts

- Tool: `abi_encode`
- Server: ScorpTech x402 API (`https://scorptech.it.com/api/x402/mcp`) — https://policylayer.com/tools/com-it-scorptech-x402.md

- Risk category: Execute (High risk)
- Registry record: grade F, identity unverified

- Server CORS policy: *
- Server rate-limited: no
- Parameters: 3 (1 required)
- Recommended policy verdict: Rate-limited

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `args` | array | no | Arguments as a JSON array (nested arrays for arrays/tuples; big integers as strings; bytes as 0x-hex) |
| `mode` | string | no | call = selector + abi.encode, params = abi.encode only, packed = abi.encodePacked |
| `signature` | string | yes | Function signature, e.g. transfer(address,uint256); param names allowed; for mode=params/packed just the type list, e.g. (address,uint256) |

Parameters from the server's own tool schema.

## Example call (MCP tools/call, JSON-RPC 2.0)

```json
{
  "jsonrpc": "2.0",
  "id": 1,
  "method": "tools/call",
  "params": {
    "name": "abi_encode",
    "arguments": {
      "signature": "<signature>"
    }
  }
}
```

## Why abi_encode is rated High

abi_encode triggers real processes with real consequences. An agent gone sideways doesn't fire it once. It starts dozens of builds, sends mass notifications, or burns through compute before anyone looks up.

## Use case

AI agents invoke abi_encode to trigger actions in ScorpTech x402 API. What it does depends on the arguments the agent supplies, and its effects often reach beyond the immediate call: builds kicked off, notifications sent, workflows started.

## Recommended policy (PolicyLayer)

Verdict: **Rate-limited**. Enforced by the PolicyLayer MCP gateway (https://policylayer.com/mcp-gateway) before a call reaches ScorpTech x402 API:
