## Why domain_fetch_reverse_ip is rated Low

This tool retrieves and queries publicly available domain and hosting information without modifying any data or triggering side effects. It is purely informational, mapping infrastructure relationships. The low severity reflects minimal blast radius—misuse would only expose existing public infrastructure data, not compromise systems or enable unauthorized actions.

From the tool's own definition: "Tool description explicitly states: 'Read-only. No side effects. Idempotent.' Performs reverse IP lookup to 'Find domains co-hosted on the same IP address' and 'Returns list of co-hosted domains.' No modification, deletion, or execution of external operations."

## Use case

AI agents call domain_fetch_reverse_ip to retrieve information from DataNexus MCP without modifying anything. It is typically the context-gathering step in research, monitoring, and reporting workflows, before the agent takes action elsewhere.
