# guest_accept

Accept an invitation SOMEONE ELSE sent YOU, gaining access to their machines. You are the guest here: after this you can use the host's shared infra. Use the 6-character invite code they shared with you. Optionally scope the grant to specific machines so you only take access to the ones you actually need. To undo it later, use guest_leave.

## Example call (MCP tools/call, JSON-RPC 2.0)

```json
{
  "jsonrpc": "2.0",
  "id": 1,
  "method": "tools/call",
  "params": {
    "name": "guest_accept",
    "arguments": {
      "code": "<code>"
    }
  }
}
```

## Why guest_accept is rated Low

Even though guest_accept only reads data, uncontrolled read access leaks sensitive information and racks up API costs: an agent caught in a retry loop can make thousands of calls a minute without anyone noticing.

Risk signals: Accepts freeform code/query input (code)

## Use case

AI agents call guest_accept to retrieve information from Yaver without modifying anything. It is typically the context-gathering step in research, monitoring, and reporting workflows, before the agent takes action elsewhere.

## Recommended policy (PolicyLayer)

Verdict: **Allowed**. Enforced by the PolicyLayer MCP gateway (https://policylayer.com/mcp-gateway) before a call reaches Yaver:

```json
{
  "version": "1",
  "default": "deny",
  "tools": {
    "guest_accept": {}
  }
}
```
